I was fortunate enough to have this Damselfly settle within my field of vision while I was 

trying to take a photo of a spider.

Is there anybody out there that can tell me what the round object might be? 

 Is it a parasite? Is it a cyst?
Although I have taken photos of these insects before, I have never seen and cannot find
information about this on the internet.
