It it were not for the pink grass seeds/flowers that caught my eye I would not have kneeled down or noticed this fellow.
What perfect camouflage!

What a fascinating creature Maggie. I am so glad you were fascinated by the grass because it enabled us to see this creature. Wow!!!! Is it a grasshopper?

Yes Jill - it is a type of grasshopper. It has quite a long abdomen but it is hidden behind the blade of grass. I like it's spotty eyes!
