At first I thought this was little seed, but it turned out to be a dead bug.
It looked as if it was dipped in paint and I decided to take a closer look.
These macro shots show that it was carefully covered in very fine strands of silk.
It reminds me of a cocoon of a Silk Worm. Surely this could not be have been done by a Spider?
Perhaps it is the work of a worm? If so, why?
