This young Crested Barbet stopped for a rest on the patio today.
Too soon it became aware of the camera and was less relaxed, though.
The last photo in the sequence was taken shortly before it took off.
I just love these birds. Many years ago a friend of ours was teaching her boys the names of the birds. She didn't think they were really concentrating but the little one came running in a few days later and said, 'Mommy, Mommy come and look at the Prestik Barbet' so that is what they have been called by Gav and I ever since.
